On the Roads of Mantuan’s Tastes and Flavours.

Day 1.

It starts from Borgofranco, famous for its truffles, continuing for Pieve di Coriano, Quistello (with wine tasting – Lambrusco DOC) and San Benedetto Po, by following the road of Parmigiano Reggiano and Grana Padano up to Virgilio to see how it was created and developed the complete production chain: “from cow to cheese.” A taste of mustard and then visit to an ancient rice factory still running today: the place where you clean the rice and where the “Pilot Rice” was born (Riso alla Pilota – rice with meat). Also, do not forget at least to taste some frogs and “saltarei” (freshwater shrimps). Dinner and overnight.

Day 2.

Breakfast. It start the discovery of the winemaking tradition in the moraine hills, with quite and relaxing environments that offer more than beautiful landscapes and picturesque medieval villages and a considerable gastronomic tradition. You will taste white and red wines, such as Chiaretti D.O.C., made with mixtures of vintage wines, cured meats and “capunsei”. Visits to local wineries are included, not to mention some of the stages of the areas of greatest historical and artistic interest. Typical lunch accompanied by excellent local wines.
