In the morning, boarding on the ship with destination San Benedetto Po, after two hours of pleasant and impressive navigation from the lakes of Mantova to the great river Po, passing through the “water elevator” of Governolo.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, guided tour of the sixteenth-century monastic complex of St. Benedict, one of the highest centers of culture, art and spirituality of the past. The route runs from the ancient church of Santa Maria, with testimonies of the XII sec., to the cloisters, the Church retrieved and modified by Giulio Romano in the XVI sec., and the refectory with a fresco attributed to the young Correggio. Next to the abbey, the Museum of Popular Culture which exposes tools and objects in use in the farming world.

In the evening, return by bus to Mantua, dinner and overnight at the hotel.


In the morning, breakfast at the hotel and guided tour of the center of Mantua: churches, palaces, noble houses, squares and the most charming views of the city. At the end, visit of the sumptuous residence of the Gonzaga: the Doge’s Palace with the famous Bridal Chamber frescoed by A. Mantegna.

Lunch in a restaurant in one of the most beautiful squares of the old town.

In the afternoon, visit to Palazzo Te, suburban villa created by the genius of Giulio Romano in the fifteenth century to the first Duke of the city.
